TOTEME is looking for a Merchandising Director to join our team full-time in Stockholm. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and execution of merchandising strategies, ensuring alignment with our brand identity and business objectives. As Merchandising Director, you will lead our Merchandising, Buying and Planning functions, leveraging your expertise in luxury fashion, market trends, and consumer insights to optimize product selection, drive profitability, and elevate the customer experience. This role reports directly to the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Introduce innovative merchandising approaches, staying ahead of emerging fashion trends and consumer behavior. Identify and capitalize on missed opportunities.
  • Define and lead the global merchandising strategy across all categories, aligning with brand vision, pricing architecture, and long-term business objectives.
  • Develop seasonal merchandising plans in close collaboration with Design, Product Development, Production, and Sales, ensuring collections meet market demand and reflect TOTEME’s aesthetic.
  • Identify and plan capsule collections and exclusive pieces, tailored to seasonal and market-specific opportunities.
  • Oversee the management of carry-over and never-out-of-stock products, recommending adjustments to the carry-over program and managing inventory levels.
  • Lead product selection, buying, and category management across all channels and markets, ensuring a commercially strong and brand-aligned offer that drives sales, margin, and sell-through.
  • Establish seasonal buying budgets grounded in growth targets, sell-through expectations, risk assessments, and stock levels.
  • Define and communicate seasonal buying guidelines to ensure consistency across all sales channels.
  • Lead demand forecasting and seasonal planning across channels to meet business objectives and financial targets.
  • Define and implement inventory management direction across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale, optimizing availability and sell-through.
  • Oversee stock management and clearance programs, maintaining healthy inventory levels across all channels.
  • Oversee store and channel allocations, providing ongoing support throughout each season.
  • Contribute to TOTEME’s social and environmental sustainability strategy, with a focus on product offerings, buying levels, and inventory management.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, and planning, ideally within the luxury fashion industry.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Deep knowledge of luxury retail, product lifecycle management, and global fashion markets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive sales performance and execute complex merchandising strategies across both physical and digital channels.
  • Proficient in merchandising systems, ERP platforms, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
  • International experience and a nuanced understanding of consumer behavior across markets.

This is a full-time position based at TOTEME’s Stockholm HQ, with a desired start date as soon as possible.
